I’ve found that asking good questions is a skill that you can learn. I’ve had people counsel me before just by asking me questions and leading me to say what I needed to hear.

Loren Pinilis I agree Loren, but I take very seriously that parents are one of the appointed “means” God uses to bring about the dependence, both through example and teaching. So we work hard at it, trusting God every step.

Loren Pinilis I’m finding that one of the important pieces of building that legacy is in talking about it openly. Our kids know that we are aiming at that, and that they are a very important part of it being continuously passed on. But that only “works” if my relationship with the LORD is genuine enough for them to see for themselves. That way they truly want it for themselves and develop a passion to pass it along because it becomes genuine for them. Blessings to you and yours Loren.

Wow. I knew that Sproul had been through this but I had never really heard him talk about it before (I’m sure he did often, I just didn’t hear it). It was heart-breaking to hear, but it was amazingly inspiring to see how his faith has impacted how he navigated through this.
